The aim of the prize is to enhance the sectors prestige, to promote positive publicity, to inform the public about opportunities related to ICT, and to honor those projects which offer benefits to broad ranges of society. Applications are evaluated by an independent and competent jury consisting of nine members representatives from ICT industry, security and media sectors. The total number of applications since 2007 is close to 100. This year there were 24 applicants six in the E-Government and Services category, eight in the Projects Related to Education, Culture, Health Care, Sports and New Media category, six in the Business Development and e-commerce category and four in the The Most Innovative e-signature Application category.
In the category E-Government and Services the prize went to Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) for its CSDD e-services. The aim of the e-services is to give drivers and vehicle owners all legally available information about drivers and their vehicles. Users of CSDD e-services can receive reminders, use services and make payments.
In the Projects Related to Education, Culture, Health Care, Sports and New Media category, the prize was awarded to a charity portal Labiedarbi.lv by association Labie darbi a public project competition to support personal and professional development of residents of Latvia. The system was developed by Efumo, Ltd.
Business Development and e-commerce award was granted to AERODIUM customer flow management and video capturing system developed by Cube-Media, SIA. The system offers effective customer flow management in all stages of service and fully automated flight video capturing.
The prize in the category The Most Innovative e-signature Application went to Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia for development of online channel for E-document submission. The system was designed by Lursoft, SIA.
